Studio 109 takes pride in our community, and for many years, we have looked for opportunities to give back. During our 20th Anniversary year (2018), we launched the Studio 109 Scholarship - an initiative designed to give back to our dedicated 109ers.

Open to all ages, the Studio 109 Scholarship will be given to a deserving student and cover all group dance classes*.

  1. Complete the Studio 109 Dance Scholarship Application Form.

  2. Write a 500 (or less) word essay, answering the question: How has danced changed for you over the past year?
    It is important your essay does not go over 500 words.

  3. A cover sheet with your name, age, academic awards, dance and community volunteer experience.

  4. Include an 8x10 headshot photo.

  5. Prepare a 1 minute dance (no longer) to showcase at an audition to the scholarship board members.

  6. Provide two letters of recommendation: one from one of your dance instructors (here or at a dance club or other organization), and one from a teacher, guidance counselor, clergy member, etc.

  7. Be prepared to audition to a dance created by past scholarship winners; all applicants must be present for the entire audition time. ​

* includes all group dance classes for the period September 2021 - June 2022. It does not include solos, costumes, workshops or competition fees.

  • Monday, April 19, 2021 - application package due. No late entries will be accepted. 

  • Saturday, May 8, 2021 - audition will be held from 1-2pm at Studio 109 (no exceptions).
